Introduction
In the chapters Scope of action and Methodology of the project description, reference is made to a meta-data format and a meta-data web service. The meta-data web service will offer the possibility to search for available GIS data sets, and map material concerning the wadden Sea area.
Meta-data collection
In order to streamline the collection and processing of meta-data, a meta-data format has been developed, in co-operation with all project partners. The description of the meta-data format can be downloaded as word, RTF or zip file.

At present all partners are collecting meta-data within their own area and/or disciplines. The collected meta-data will be processed centrally and made available to the public via the MARIS internet server.
